This position is for our Portsmouth, NH office. Come join the best web development team in the region as our newest Front End Developer! You will help Vital maintain existing websites as well as build new ones using the latest in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML technologies. If you thrive on having real world challenges to accomplish big goals while fostering your obsessive need for fast, efficient code and user experience, this is the job for you! Along with coding, you will be responsible for working with project managers and designers on a regular basis to make each project the best it can be.

As a Front End Web Developer you…

  • Are passionate about building responsive, adaptive, mobile-first websites that meet usability and accessibility web standards and best practices.
  • Are highly collaborative in a team-oriented environment.
  • Are able to multitask and prioritize, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have experience with basic front end programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. You should either be familiar with them already or the idea of using them on a daily basis should not be a deal-breaker.
  • Are not afraid to work hard, be humble, ask questions, learn new things!

Extra credit if you have…

  • 1 or more years of web development experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with PHP-based applications. We mostly use WordPress.
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Grunt or Gulp.
  • An understanding of basic SEO principles.
