Dave Currier

SEO Manager, Senior Developer, ca. '12

Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Luke 14:11

They don’t call him “SEO Dave” for nothing. We’re not saying he knows what Google’s next algorithm update will be, but he does possess an uncanny ability to stay on top of the ever-changing, increasingly technical field of organic search, so Vital’s clients get found online by their ideal audiences. As if that weren’t enough, Dave knows his way around every major website development platform and content management system out there, and he can talk digital marketing strategy with the best of them.

Prior to joining the Vital team, Dave was an SEO specialist and web developer at a leading search agency, and he even ran his own shop for a while. Also, SEO legend Rand Fishkin once name-dropped him from stage.

Dave studied web design and interactive media at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and when he’s not working, he’s probably studying ancient history, taking care of his growing menagerie of farm animals, or divesting himself of most of his worldly belongings.

A brief history at Vital
Hired as Senior Developer/SEO Manager
Vital only had a handful of developers. Dave stepped in to help take the workload off of creative director, Jesse Rand.
Digital Marketing Department is Born
Under the leadership of Director of Digital Marketing, Chris Getman, Dave and Chris build out programs for clients including technical SEO, content & keyword research, off-page SEO and PPC. This would evolve into our modern day programs.
Relinquished PPC
With Vital's rapid expansion came the need to expand our departments. Vital's PPC department is born and soon, Dave is completely hands-off.
