Vital Takes Home 10 WebAwards for Website Design

Vital Design 2019 WebAward Winner Featured Blog Graphic

In a perfect world, we’d give an award to every client we worked with in 2019. But we’ve had a really busy year of developing websites and digital marketing strategies, and our local trophy shop never has enough awards in stock.

We did, however, have a few minutes to spare to submit some of our latest projects to the 2019 WebAwards. And guess what? We won a whopping 10 awards! This puts to shame the 6 awards we won in 2017, and has led us to go furniture shopping for a new trophy case.

The WebAwards are awarded in three different tiers: Best Website, Outstanding Website, and Standard of Excellence. Judges are leaders in their respected industries and score websites on the design, innovation, content, interactivity, technology, copywriting, and ease of use.

Now on to the good stuff. Here are our 2019 WebAward-winning websites! Click on the company name to see the fruits of our labor.

Best Website
(This is the big kahuna. It means we scored the highest in the industry!)

Outstanding Website
(A special recognition for exceptional websites, given to an elite few per industry.)

Standard of Excellence
(A top website among elite company for the industry!)

Pivot: Best Technology Website

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards Pivot
We Now Present: The Best Technology Website of 2019

Pivot is a smoking cessation program that empowers people to quit by using a mobile app, Bluetooth-enabled breath sensor, coaching, and clinical expertise. Their differentiator is that they are both B2B and B2C — they offer solutions for businesses to help their employees quit smoking as well as individualized programs.

Their new website needed to bring the brand’s B2B and B2C programs together under one domain with sections tailored to each audience. We also created robust detailed pages so that every type of visitor can quickly and easily learn about the pillars of Pivot’s program.

“Vital was wonderful to work with,” said John Bradley, Head of Brand for Carrot, Inc, the parent company of Pivot. “From the RFP to the onboarding, to production and final delivery, it was clear that they really understood our business and our brand. They were also simply a pleasure to work with. They were responsive, flexible, and true creative partners.”

Ariel Group: Outstanding Website

See the Evolution of Ariel

As a B2B organization, Ariel Group provides companies with specialized communication training designed to amplify their business success.

Ariel needed a new website that more effectively engaged visitors visually while offering concise, compelling copy to better communicate the benefits of their programs and introduce their talented team of coaches and facilitators.

Globalization Partners: Outstanding Website

Check Out the Globalization Partners Project

As a professional employer organization, Globalization Partners provides U.S.-based companies with employer of record services so that they can expand their business overseas.

Globalization Partners is constantly receiving awards for their business offerings, leadership, and workplace culture, but their old website didn’t reflect any of these impressive accomplishments. In our approach, we redesigned several page templates to resonate better with their audience, condensed the navigation, and incorporated more video and photos of employees for a more dynamic user experience.

Montage Residences Deer Valley: Outstanding Website

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards Montage
Montage’s New Web Home

Luxury private residential community Montage Residences Deer Valley needed a sophisticated website that showcased the elegant lifestyle that comes with living in one of their ski vacation homes.

With a strategic design plan in place, we catered Montage Residences Deer Valley’s new website to their high-net-worth audience. One of our biggest priorities was for people to feel like they were at Deer Valley while browsing the website, so we featured imagery of the highest quality to give visitors an up-close and personal look at life in Utah’s gorgeous mountain-side community.

SilverCloud: Outstanding Website

See SilverCloud’s Bright, Animated Website

SilverCloud provides banks and credit unions with self-service software solutions that help their employees and customers find the answers they need to take action. Since their product offering is unique, the website refresh needed to educate consumers while explaining the unique benefits of their software.

Their updated website features a bright, mobile-friendly design with character animations and new content on nearly every page. We also created an animated product video and premium content offers to better educate and convert visitors.

“We’ve been working with Vital since 2014, so we had an immense amount of trust in their ability to refresh our website,” said D.J. Haskins, VP of Marketing at SilverCloud. “And we weren’t disappointed! The design is clean, the colors look fantastic, and visitors are responding well to all of our vibrant content offerings.”

Chinburg Properties: Construction Standard of Excellence

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards Chinburg
The Construction of Chinburg’s Digital Presence

Chinburg Properties provides building and property management services to northern New England in the form of commercial and residential construction, general contracting, rental properties, and existing communities.

When redesigning their website, we knew we needed to highlight Chinburg’s quality craftsmanship, vast expertise, and commitment to their communities. This required a design and content that could be aesthetically pleasing to both commercial and residential audiences. Chinburg’s new website now goes into great detail about their development processes and available properties, while providing helpful, SEO-optimized content by means of a brand-new blog.

“Our website redesign does a beautiful job of showcasing our design/build capabilities, our portfolio of favorite floor plans and home building options in a more organized fashion,” said Jen Chinburg, VP, Marketing and Corporate Development at Chinburg Properties. “Our visitors are easily able to find exactly what they need as they land on our homepage.”

Cross Roads House: Non-Profit Standard of Excellence

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards CRH
View Cross Roads House’s Welcoming Website

Cross Roads House is a non-profit emergency and transitional shelter for men, women, and children in Portsmouth, NH. In 2018, the shelter was overcapacity for 84% of the year, which meant that having a website that could effectively communicate their mission and services was an absolute must.

Since Cross Roads House depends on support from the community, we strategically designed their new website to welcome visitors with impactful hero imagery (plus a video message) and statistics intended to speak to the hearts of potential donors and volunteers.

This project was near and dear to our hearts because of Cross Roads House’s direct connection to our own community. We were happy to donate a full website, hosting, maintenance, and an ongoing digital marketing retainer to support the important work they do for Portsmouth, NH.

Duck Creek Technologies: B2B Standard of Excellence

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards Duck Creek
Take a Look at Duck Creek’s New Design

Duck Creek Technologies is an insurance platform designed for enterprise property and casualty (P&C) insurance providers.

While the word “insurance” may not sound exciting – today’s property and casualty insurance carriers need to constantly innovate to protect everything from rideshare programs to driverless cars.  Duck Creek in turn needed a website to inspire their customers and prospects so they reached out to us to deliver a website that embraces their new brand while serving as an educational tool for visitors and leads.

“We love what Vital did with our website,” said Lauren St. Amand, Sr. Director of Marketing at Duck Creek. “The new design fits with our company culture and integrates easily with our digital platform on the frontend and backend.”

Duck Creek’s website is more than just a pretty face; it was built with future-focused SEO tactics in mind, and now brings in almost 40,000 sessions a month just from organic traffic.”

Ortholite: Manufacturing Standard of Excellence

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards Ortholite
Meet Ortholite

Ortholite is likely the most popular company you’ve never heard of. As a leading open-cell foam manufacturer, they provide branded foam insoles to more than 350 footwear brands, including Adidas, Nike, and Reebok.

With their new website, their goals were focused on creating a sleek design they could share with prospective B2B clients, empowering their team to easily organize sales and marketing materials, and providing an intuitive backend experience.

Ortholite’s new website is now a dynamic sales tool that shares their story on a platform they can be proud of. Some of our favorite features include:

  • Product filtering capabilities
  • A user-friendly backend
  • A resource center the sales team can leverage to share assets
  • A custom template for easily updating products and innovative technologies

University of Cincinnati Online: Education Standard of Excellence

Vital Design Wins 10 WebAwards UC Online
A New UX for UC Online

The University of Cincinnati’s top-ranked online degree programs were difficult for prospective students (and even employees) to navigate, due to their more than 300 webpages spread across multiple third-party sites.

With their new website, we created a more organized, streamlined user experience that quickly showcases the benefits of a UC education for individuals seeking a flexible, affordable way to pursue their educational and career goals. In addition to consolidating everything under the main domain, other improvements included a fully customized, user-friendly CMS platform that makes it easier for the team to tell their story to prospective students.

“We knew we needed to modernize our website and make the prospective student experience be the best it could be,” said Brandi Bittner, Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment for UC Online. “Our website experience needs to be as awesome as getting an on-campus tour for our online student prospects. Vital went above and beyond, and we’re very pleased with the outcome.”

Bottom line: hard work pays off. Congratulations to the fantastic companies we work with — you should be just as excited and proud as we are!
