Team Vital Represents at Memorial Bridge Road Race
This past Saturday, a team of enthusiastic Vital employees and friends participated in the 1st Annual ISM Memorial Bridge Road Race. Decked out in orange, Team Vital met on Badger’s Island in Kittery, Maine, to join over 700 other racers in a 5k that had them trotting across the newly completed bridge, through Portsmouth’s downtown streets and finishing up in Prescott Park. Battling the chilly, raw autumn weather, Vital placed eighth out of 18 teams.
But beyond running, this race held an extra level of significance to Team Vital. For these multi-talented employees, this was the perfect opportunity to recognize their closeness to the Memorial Bridge’s reopening – an undertaking that began over two years ago. During the reengineering of this structure, Vital designed and launched a website, the Memorial Bridge Project, which allowed the Maine and NH DOTs to share updates about the progress of the new bridge. During this time, Vital also designed the logo for the Bridging the Piscataqua exhibit that took place at the Discover Portsmouth Center from June 7 to October 13. Saturday’s race was a great way for Vital to experience the bridge alongside so many others who also appreciate the significance this bridge plays in connecting the Maine and New Hampshire Seacoast communities.
Vital also tips their hats to the Prescott Park Arts Festival and the Community Child Care Center of Portsmouth for collaborating to make this race possible, as well as to the Portsmouth Community Road Race Series, and of course all other volunteers and participants who made this event so memorable and inspiring.
