Sarah Brady grew up in Cohasset, MA, a small coastal town about 45 minutes south of Boston. She started college at James Madison in Virginia and then moved back up to NH, to continue her education at UNH. At UNH, she studied English/Journalism, worked at The New Hampshire as the news editor and fell in love with the Seacoast. After graduating from UNH, she moved around from Charlestown to Providence, RI, to the North End of Boston and back to the South Shore, before finally making it back to New Hampshire in August 2014, where she plans to stay. She worked for a small hedge fund in Boston and spent several years at State Street Global Advisors on the content marketing team, and then worked in marketing at Liberty Mutual before joining the Vital inbound team as our Inbound Content Manager.
Sarah is on the board of directors for SATYA (Seacoast Area of Teachers of Yoga in Action) which brings yoga to underserved populations throughout the Seacoast. She is very interested in human rights work and how yoga and mind body medicine can heal people and communities. Outside of work, in addition to keeping up with her 7-year-old son, Brady, Sarah loves yoga, music, reading and being outdoors — skiing, hiking, beaching and traveling — and is enjoying being back in Portsmouth. It’s also important to note that she has a thing for avocados; she adds them to everything and has one a day.

Carol graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Communication with a Business Application, and minor in Sociology.
Throughout her time in the communication department at UNH, she developed a deep passion for writing and people. This interest lead her to pursue two internship experiences — one with a small eco-friendly start-up and another with a local marketing and PR creative agency. And with that, Carol discovered her interest in inbound marketing! She began her journey as an intern here at Vital, and has continued to grow with the company and is now one of our very own Project Managers.
When she’s not managing foundational projects and website builds on a day-to-day basis, you can find her riding around Portsmouth on her seafoam green Buddy moped, practicing yoga, anywhere near a view of the sea, or with her family, friends and puppy Bentley!

Dan works on the Vital development team as a Senior Web Developer & SEO Strategist. A graduate of Keene State College with a degree in graphic design, Dan soon discovered that designing websites, not brochures, was his true calling. He started working with WordPress back in version 2.5 and pretty much adopted it as his platform of choice and hasn’t looked back since. When he is not building WordPress websites or writing code in general, you can typically find him enjoying the outdoors, eating Mexican food or watching any movie that has a decent rating on IMDB. In the winter he is a die-hard snowboarder and absolutely loves going up into the Green or White Mountains whenever the snow falls. He is a proud husband, the father of two human children and two cats.

He moved to his second agency to spend several more years learning multichannel advertising, content marketing and modern public relations.
Marc joins Vital for an opportunity to tie 9 years of digital marketing and communications into a career as a Digital Marketing and UX Manager.Marc has a BA in Communications from Rivier. When not managing targeted pay per click(PPC) campaigns, reviewing site structure or managing projects with Vital, Marc is an audiobook and podcast addict.
Marc spends his evenings with his college sweetheart and wife, Shawna, and their dog, Sarge. His hobbies include robotics, unmanned aircraft and driving really, really long distances for good vegan food (his honeymoon was at a vegetarian festival in Washington D.C).
Matt grew up pretty close to Portsmouth — in Farmington, NH. He started his web dev career while he was still in high school, working at a local dial-up ISP called WorldPath (now BayRing) after school. Since then, he’s worked at a few different agencies between Rochester and Manchester: EnSky, Wedü and SilverTech, with one small break for a few years to teach computer class at Barrington Elementary School and a brief stint as a UX Engineer at Modus Associates in NYC.
Matt is one of the co-founders of the Front End Rally meetup, which occasionally meets here at Vital! Matt has also done a couple of talks for the New Hampshire Creative Club.
When not working on web stuff, Matt is probably either playing and/or creating video games, or spending time with his wife Amy and their dog-child, Navi. Matt also enjoys cooking, reading (currently working on Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman!) and the occasional trip to Disney World.
Emily started at Vital as an intern in both our Inbound and Web departments. Today she is a Digital Marketing Coordinator who works with clients in our Inbound Department. Emily is an avid skier and hiker and is in the process of conquering all 48 of the 4,000-footers in NH. Emily’s also a huge foodie — she loves eating food, making food and finding out where her food comes from. She believes that food and local craft beer go hand in hand. On weekends you can find her hanging out with friends, her puppy and a brew at one of the many craft breweries on the Seacoast.
Hannah started at Vital as a Web Design intern and today she works in our Inbound Department as a Digital Marketing Coordinator. Hannah loves the creativity and teamwork involved in inbound marketing—and considers her unique experience in communications to be part of what makes her a strong member of the Vital team. When she isn’t in the office, you can find Hannah sweating on her yoga mat, biking in goofy shorts, skiing the Ice Coast, and eating M&Ms on her couch.

Maria DiCesare (it’s pronounced like “accessory”) is a Massachusetts native who joined Vital after spending several years in Orlando, Florida, working for a small agency and battling the extreme heat. Maria’s love for New England called her back to the area and away from from the south — and she’s wicked psyched to be back home in New England. She comes to Vital with impressive agency experience in both digital marketing and copywriting.
Her previous experience spans across the entire marketing spectrum, from social media curation and pay-per-click advertising to analytics and SEO. After getting an associate’s degree in Journalism, Maria went on to get her a degree in Anthropology from the University of Central Florida. Maria uses anthropological thought and her eclectic agency experience as a foundation for her writing. She developed a fascination with agencies early in her career and loves the challenge of learning everything about a new industry (especially B2B industries) to effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences. When she’s not working, Maria’s probably exploring Portsmouth, at a yoga class, volunteering at an animal shelter or with her nose buried in a book.

Johnny lives with his sister and nephew in Portsmouth. He is an award-winning dart player and his Coat of Arms team plays in the Seacoast Dart Association league. Johnny is also a connoisseur of cider, and can often be found consuming and/or fermenting it at his friend’s orchard. He is also a member of Portsmouth’s most notorious scooter gang; they don’t have a name.

With an eye for pixel perfection, she prides herself on being an innovator in the design field—bringing creativity and problem solving skills to every project. Tanya’s vast skill set has allowed her to work with such major clients as MENTOR, Kepware, Community Coffee, and Cybex.
Outgoing and a lover of making people laugh, Tanya considers herself to be “Apple’s Biggest Fan” and will routinely find herself crying with joy during the company’s keynote events. She also has a 75-pound-ish pet tortoise named “Tiki”, along with 4 Chihuahuas, 2 geckos, and 2 sugar gliders. In addition to her passion for animals, she also loves horror movies, diet coke, and all things technology.
Kate is an industry veteran with vast experience working in departments such as Account Services, Strategy and Project Management. In the past 20 years, she has worked with major clients like Comcast Spotlight, Comcast Security, Penn Foster, The National Mentoring Partnership, Cybex, Connected-IQ and Exeter Hospital.
Having grown up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Kate fell in love with the Seacoast while in college and decided it was going to be the place she would put down her roots. Today, she is a proud resident of Rye and gets to breathe in the salty ocean air each and every day.
When not at work, Kate can be found out on a run, at the gym or spending time with her husband and two children on bike rides, hikes, at the beach or skiing in North Conway.
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in economics, he tried out the competitive world of sales. Next, he spent several years fine tuning his bartending, customer service and managerial skills at a popular Portsmouth restaurant, even earning the title of “Best Bartender” by Taste of the Seacoast magazine in 2013.
But don’t be fooled; his customer service-focused background has made him no stranger to business and marketing. In 2012, he opened a solar-powered guest house in Playa Maderas, Nicaragua. Having managed the build from excavation all the way to interior design, he picked up some valuable business acumen and also dipped his toes in digital marketing to promote the property. Sam’s vast experience in hospitality and sales has also enabled him with the ability of reading people quite well.
When he’s not at working at Vital or adventuring off to Nicaragua to manage his property, Sam enjoys aquatic sports, music and travel. And even though he currently lives less than a mile from his place of birth in Portsmouth, he’s well-travelled, having had various journeys throughout Europe, the South Pacific, Central America and Australia.
Recognizing his love for both graphic design and programming, Tyler found creative agencies to be a healthy amalgamation of the two. Following his Computer Science studies at Rochester Institute of Technology, he’s worked in the agency world as a full-stack developer since 2006, always seeking answers to the age-old questions: “Can you fix this?” and “Can we make the logo bigger?”
Tyler describes his lifestyle and career approach as minimalist. Over the years, he refines his process to the bare essentials, and his “form follows function” mentality has brought success to many large scale, high profile clients.
When not at work, Tyler enjoys his time with his son and wife; he spends his screen-free time hiking/foraging, listening to old 45’s, making art and words on paper.
Anarita got her undergrad at Northeastern and her MFA from the Art Institute of Boston. Both degrees are in Photography. She started her marketing career as an intern at Vital! She then worked in the agency world for 7 years at a local agency and made a switch over to the client side working in the athletic space. She realized that she really missed agency life, and that is where she belongs. She missed a lot about agency life but the thing the client side was lacking the most is the importance and need for learning. She loves that when you work in an agency you have to stay on top of the current trends and changes, you need to constantly be learning the latest thing and growing your skill set.
Anarita lives in downtown Portsmouth and has for 8 years, she absolutely loves this town. She has a shaggy dog that looks like a muppet and she loves the outdoors so on the weekend she is usually doing something active (hiking, camping, snowboarding etc). She also bartended in town for years.
Donny is a New England based web designer with a passion for front end development. After graduating school in Virginia at Liberty University with a bachelors in communications he went straight into the marketing/ agency life. From there he found an opportunity to check out product design and moved to Boston to work at a startup, however Donny decided he wanted to come back into the agency life (How could he have left??)(Also could say something about coming back home?) ending up at Vital.
When he’s not at work he can be found playing guitar, drinking some sort of IPA and getting down on rocket league or doing some front end stuff.

Max is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in marketing and finance. Before joining Vital, Max had various positions at a couple of NH startup companies where he was responsible for a wide variety of marketing activities. His time in school while working propelled his interests in the digital marketing field.
Growing up in northern New Hampshire gave him a passion for the outdoors and athletics. Max hiked all the NH 48 4000 footers within one year, and plans to keep going all around the world. He considers hiking one of his biggest passions along with athletics and fly fishing. When he is not working or educating himself, you will find him at the gym, in the middle of nowhere, or on the river.
Josh graduated from Temple University in 2013 with a degree in Film and Media Arts. After studying in Los Angeles for a semester and working on a few sets, he decided drop the Hollywood plan and stay in the Northeast, stumbling across the beautiful state of New Hampshire and falling in love with the mountains, lakes, and small towns of the Seacoast. He’s learned how to be a one-man-video-band with his abilities stretching from script-writing, to cinematography, to post-production and motion graphics.
In his free time he enjoys exploring the small towns of New England with his wife while looking for the lake they’re going to buy their future lake house on.
Emily Dowling joins us as a Inbound Consultant. A native of the Seacoast, she grew up in New Hampshire and then headed south to study communications at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. While she loved the area — and the weather — her New England roots called her to move back to the Northeast. She decided to land first in Boston, where she worked for a few years in the educational and student travel industry. One of Emily’s biggest passions is travel, and her ultimate goal is to make it to all seven continents. She has travelled to Peru, Australia, Mexico, France, Spain and Italy, Nicaragua, and Thailand.
Unable to resist a return to the Seacoast, Emily moved back to Portsmouth in 2014, where she worked at a local digital marketing agency in a client-facing role as an Account Manager. She is excited to join Vital on our inbound marketing team, where she’ll be working directly with clients and guiding their inbound marketing strategies.
